SEVENTIES fashion is back and Scope's charity shops is launching a dazzling new line of quality second hand retro clothing. Staff at shops in Beckenham, Bromley, Orpington, West Wickham and Petts Wood are busy sorting through hundreds of retro items which local residents have kindly donated. The clothes will then be sold at the Cosmopolitan Show from April 30 to May 4 at London's Earls Court.

It is the fourth successive year that the Cosmopolitan Show has taken place and among the 2,500 garments for sale on stand number 643 will be an exclusive range of retro flares, which have been recycled from unwanted clothing by volunteer stitchers. The ambitious campaign is fronted by supermodel Iris Palmer, who said: "Scope's second-hand shop is unique in representing 40 years of fashion. This is the chance for today's youth to get their hands on genuine 70s clothing at prices not seen since then."

Scope's London regional manager, Jenny Morris, said: "We are always looking for a new and rare funky finds to add to our current selection. For the Cosmopolitan Show we are especially keen to receive any assortment of retro treasures that you may have tucked away at the back of your wardrobe."

Scope is the UK's biggest disability charity and its 330 plus shops, sell over 99 per cent of donated goods. The money raised helps to fund Scope's work with adults and children who have cerebral palsy and associated disabilities. If you have any unwanted 70s gear, drop it into Scope charity shops in Beckenham, Bromley, Orpington, West Wickham and Station Square in Petts Wood. For those wishing to buy 70s gear, call the Cosmopolitan Show ticket hotline on 0990 205 205 or get on down' to the Scope charity shop in Eltham, which will sell donated retro items after the launch.
