A PROGRAMME sponsored by the South London Manufacturing Challenge has introduced 90 children to the joys of working in the manufacturing industry.
The London Children's University, held at the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill branch, was designed to raise their interest in an industry which offers excellent job prospects in south London.
The children aged nine to 13 had a chance to build a motorised buggy, make their own camera and publish a newspaper from start to finish.
The event was highly successful and was part of a programme called Let's Make It Work. Local industry managers were enthusiastic that it would help develop its workforce of tomorrow.
