One man is fighting for his life and another is in hospital after a gang of eight went on a stabbing rampage in west London.
Police were called to outside Hammersmith Palais in Shepherd's Bush just after midnight, where they found the first victim stabbed once in the leg.
He pointed them towards a second man in a pool of blood nearby in Sheperd's Bush Road. He had been stabbed several times, Scotland Yard said.
The attackers, a mob of about eight men, fled in separate taxis.
A Met spokesman said they are "keeping an open mind" about what lead to the attacks.
Shepherds Bush Road has been closed between the junctions with Broadway and Littlebrook Green. It will remain so for most of the morning while forensic scientists search the scene.
Officers asked anyone with information to call Hammersmith police station on 020 8246 2689, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
