BRENT Sports Service is calling on all sports clubs in the borough to include their club details in a new Sports Directory for Brent and take up the opportunity to promote their sports club for free.
Brent council is carrying out an audit of sports clubs in the borough.
The information gathered will enable the council to create a Sports Directory for residents to refer to when requiring keep fit or health-related services.
It is intended that the directory, once compiled, will be published free of charge on the council's website.
The information will be used to establish a database of sports clubs.
This will help Brent Sports Services to keep sports clubs in the borough informed about sports initiatives and funding opportunities that may become available to them locally, regionally or nationally.
The audit will enable sports clubs in the borough to inform the council about the activities they organise throughout the year for members and highlight any needs they may have.
It will also help inform the Sports Strategy for Brent by helping to identify priorities and make recommendations about how sport in Brent should be developed to meet the needs of residents.
To be included in the Sports Directory for Brent, sports clubs and related organisations should contact Augustina Badu on 020 8937 3707 for further details and ways to register.
Alternatively, registration can be done online by going to www.brent.gov.uk/sports and clicking on Brent Sports Club Directory.
