The Mayor of Brent's Christmas party which took place on Saturday, December 13, was described by one partygoer as "the best in 17 years".

The party attracted more than 400 guests who danced the night away at Brent Town Hall to live music by Liz Mitchell, the lead singer of Boney M.

The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Peter Lemmon, hosted the Christmas party in aid of the mayor's charities: NCH Jamaica, Brent Carers Centre and Brent Domestic Violence Forum.

An auction on the night raised £880 whilst a raffle ticket draw generated over £1,500 for the mayor's charities. All prizes at the party were donated.

The Mayor of Brent said, "The Christmas party was thoroughly enjoyed by all and has helped to raise much needed funds for my chosen charities. I would like to thank all those who helped to make it the success that it was."

Liz Mitchell launched her new album, A Christmas Rose, at the event. For every copy sold at the party, or through the Mayor's office, £1 went to the mayor's charities.
