BEDE Anandappa, treasurer of the Harrow Federation of Tenants' and Residents' Associations (HFTRA), died suddenly on Friday of a heart condition, at the age of 76.
Mr Anandappa, who lived on the Woodlands Estate in Stanmore, was also a tenants' representative on the body which runs the borough's council housing, and served on the council's education appeals panel.
HFTRA secretary Jo Price said: "Mr Anandappa will be very sorely missed. He was a great believer in the tenant movement and was determined to do all he could for all the tenants and residents of the London Borough of Harrow.
"He was very well respected and he was much loved by his friends. He really was a wonderful man. We are saying goodbye' to a people's champion.
"Our sympathies and condolences go out to his wife, Joy."
Mr Anandappa's funeral will be held at Breakspear Crematorium in Breakspear Road, Ruislip, at 2.45pm on Monday, followed by a reception at Pinner Hill Communial Hall in Welch Place, Pinner Hill Road, Pinner Hill.
Floral tributes should be sent to the undertakers, G Saville and Son, 107 High Street, Wealdstone.
