HUNDREDS of people donned Santa suits for a 5km fun run through one of London’s royal parks.

About 850 people ran through Greenwich Park on Sunday (December 7) in aid of more than 17 charities, including the National Autistic Society, the Multiple Scleroris Trust and Childhope.

The event raised more than £70,000 and was one of a series of Santa runs held across the country this Christmas organised by charity fundraising website doitforcharity.com

Events director of the website Siobhan Dillon said: “It was a tremendous sight to see so many runners in their Santa suits running through the royal park in Greenwich.

“Well done to everybody who ran. The charities are really pleased with how much money has been raised and we hope to see everybody next year!”
