Pictures show heavy traffic on a major Bexley road after a multi-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to the A2 between the M25 (J2) and the A2018 in Dartford this morning at around 8am (Friday, May 10).

The westbound carriageway is currently closed as emergency services deal with a crash involving two motorcycles and a car.

One of the pictures shows traffic on the road at a standstill with an ambulance and a London Fire Brigade vehicle visible.

Another picture, taken from above the road, shows a group of police stood on the road next to multiple police cars, an ambulance and a London Fire Brigade vehicle.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near Wilmington.

“Patrols and paramedics were called to the incident involving three vehicles at 8.08am on Friday 10 May 2024.

“The London-bound carriageway is currently closed to traffic.”

A National Highways spokesperson said: “The A2 in Kent is closed westbound between the M25 (J2) and the A2018 (Dartford) due to a collision involving 2 motorcycles and a car.

“Emergency services including Kent Police are in attendance.

“National Highways Traffic Officers are also providing assistance with traffic management.”

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance said: “I can confirm that SECAmb were called shortly after 8am this morning (10/05/24) to reports of a serious RTC on the London bound A2 carriageway near Bexley.”
