A man has been rescued from a car after a crash between a bus and a car in Croydon.

Fire crews were called to Duppas Hill Lane shortly before 9am this morning to reports of a crash.

Firefighters had to remove the roof from the car and work with ambulance crews to release a man from the vehicle.

One woman and two children, who are all thought to have been on the bus, were assessed by ambulance crews at the scene.

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service for more information.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said: "We were called at 0852 by the London Ambulance to a report of a road traffic collision on Duppas Hill Lane in Croydon.

“A bus and a car were involved.

"Firefighters removed the roof of the car and worked alongside ambulance crews to release a man from the car.

“One woman and two children, who are all believed to have been on the bus, were all assessed at the scene by ambulance crews.

"Two fire engines and a fire and rescue unit from Croydon Fire Station attended the scene."

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to Duppas Hill at 14:59hrs on Wednesday, 01 May to reports of a bus and a car colliding.

"London Ambulance Service attended to treat a 10 year old boy and a man in his 40’s who received minor injuries.

"The road has been cleared.

"There have been no arrests."
