On Saturday the 11th of May, Richmond Green will again be host to the Richmond May fair.

The Fair has been running for over 50 years and the format is largely unchanged. It really is a family affair with children’s rides, the Scouts’ barbecue, the craft marquee, local performers and musicians, and a number of stalls hosted by Richmond-based charities. There is also the much anticipated dog show which seems to draw the biggest crowd and equal measures of fun and chaos!

Rather than drawing support from far and wide, it really does feel like a local event. Many of the charities that set up stalls have commented on the brilliant opportunity to share with the community the work they do.

Local residents enjoy the vibe it brings and the green is the perfect setting with plenty of space for children to run around and to set up a small picnic.

If you are local, be sure to have this event in your calendar, pop over and get involved in your local community!
