Every other year a local school goes on an eagerly anticipated cricket tour to Barbados which the boys look forward to from reception!
This year they went over the Easter holidays and played five matches against the local schools and clubs. The boys played extremely well especially in the heat with one boy scoring an impressive 50 and 132 runs in total across his three games.
During the rest of their time on the island, the boys did a number of excursions including a jeep safari around Barbados, going to a local fish market, enjoying a catamaran cruise and plenty of beach and pool time too!
They were also lucky enough to see the T20 world cup trophyon display, ready for the tournament which takes place in the USA from the start of June.
In preparation for their trip each boy had to raise money for new kit and cricket equipment that they then donated to the local clubs in Barbados. This year some fundraising ideas included a sponsored cycle of the distance around Barbados, a bake sale, and a handmade bracelet sale.
A once in a lifetime opportunity that they will remember for years to come!
