Nestled between the towns of Rickmansworth and Northwood is a small neighbourhood called Moor Park. This area has much to offer, from big houses to very good schools, appealing to commuters travelling into and out of London.

However, Moor Park is in crisis. Everyday, the streets are locked with traffic, making it difficult for people to travel to and from home and school. This makes the residents lives much harder as they have to leave earlier and return later, and ultimately negatively affects the neighbourhood.

One of the main reasons why Moor Park has a traffic crisis is due to the lack of local bus services available. Moor Park does contain a train station that links the neighbourhood with both London and Watford with frequent train services. However, travelling locally is still difficult as there are no reliable bus services. Residents have to travel to Northwood to use TFL bus services, or to Rickmansworth or Croxley Green to use Arriva bus services which ultimately make journey times longer.

Another reason for the traffic is that Moor Park sits on a private estate. This means that all vehicles must have a permit to enter. Vehicles without passes travelling through Moor Park delay traffic as they are stopped and are forced to turn around at the gate and drive up to Northwood to gain access into the estate, which ultimately increases traffic in the area.

Ultimately, Moor Park is stuck in a traffic crisis, negatively affecting its residents and the people who wish to travel through to attend school or use the train station. So, think twice before travelling to Moor Park at peak hours.
