With the gradual start of spring, Richmond Park’s Isabella Plantation has started to become a popular location for a relaxing weekend outing, once again. The scenic garden is free to enter and perfect for families and friends of all ages.

The plantation is home to a variety of unique and vibrant flowers, plants and trees. Additionally, the garden hosts a number of streams and ponds that flow along the garden’s numerous edges and curves. Visitors may also spot a variety of animals and birds that reside within the plantation.

As there are no specific routes within the garden, visitors are granted a greater sense of freedom to enjoy the scenery at their own pace and time. The garden is often expected to be at its peak around the time of late April/early May, but visitors may come earlier or later and still enjoy the flowers and the views.

Due to the vast collection of plants and flowers, all areas of the garden are suitable as backgrounds/subjects for photos. However, most visitors stop by the large pond at the end of the garden, which has pink flowered bushes that surround the entire edge of the pond. This area is often used as the main ‘photo spot’ for visitors.

Not too far from the Isabella Plantation, are a few cafes that are ideal for warm beverages or cold drinks and even desserts such as ice cream. Due to the proximity of the gardens and the cafes, it is ideal for a family outing or a day trip with friends.
