A man in his 50s has died after falling from a height in Woolwich.

The incident happened in Calderwood Street just before 1.15pm today (April 28).

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.  

Officers are working to notify his next of kin.

At this time, the incident is being treated as unexplained but there is no evidence to suggest suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 13:14hrs on Sunday, 28 April to reports of a man fallen from height on Calderwood Street, SE18.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

“The man, believed to be in his 50s, was sadly pronounced decease at the scene.

“Officers are working to notify his next of kin.

“Police cordons remain in place.

“At this time, the incident is being treated as unexplained but there is no evidence to suggest suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.”
