Think seafood, Italian drinks, fish, bread, raw, fried, bubbles – and then mix them altogether.

Fish & Bubbles is one of Notting Hill’s newest additions, bringing Italy, fish, bubbles and more to the trendy restaurant scene.

It’s owned by the same brothers, Peppe and Angelo Corsaro, who are behind neighbour and authentic Italian hotspot La mia Mamma.

Fish & Bubbles offers a southern Italian experience, with the first “panino di mare” to land in the UK.

With a traditional Italian rosetta bun, crunchy outside and soft inside, the paninis are filled with homemade-style fish and seafood recipes.

You can also get a two-tier sharing board with fish tapas, or a large seafood platter on a one metre wooden board with a selection of fried seafood and fish.

This is in addition to the classic calamari fritti, fish and chips and catch of the day fish balls.

The menu is wide-ranging, suitable for all tastes, and everything is bursting with flavour, individuality, and Italian spark.

I went on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was busy with a vibey but chilled atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I love fish, and would always choose the fish option on any menu, so this was the perfect place for us.

The waiters and waitresses were friendly, helpful with advising on the menu and made it feel like a real authentic Italian dining experience.

We started with the Tagliere di Mare which is for a minimum of two people and contains a selection of fish tapas served on a sharing podium.

It came with a selection of the dishes from the fish tapas section of the menu, and my favourite was the ruby red tuna tartare quinoa salad.

The fish was fresh and I enjoyed the flavour dynamic when paired with burrata and quinoa.

Other highlights included the freshly made fish balls.

We also had a salmon tartare and some chips on the side, and I really appreciated the fish-and-chip shop chippy style of the chips.

I do like all chips but these were really good ones, and they made the perfect side dish.

As full as we were, we couldn’t leave without trying the fish panini so I went for the SalmoNami and my boyfriend the Il Capogambero which comes with Capocollo, marinated prawns, spicy cime di rapa (Apulian turnip tops) and stracciatella.

Mine was filled with roasted pepper sauce, salmon tartare, cucumber, tomatoes, burrata and baby leaf and I loved the mix of a big, bulky sandwich but with fillings that are mixed with care, tasty and different to normal.

There’s a large selection of ‘bubbles’ on the menu, and each prosecco, negroni and spritz has a descriptive explanation of what it is, how it tastes, and when best drunk.

We couldn’t resist the chocolate biscuit cake for dessert, and this was just as good as all the other food was.

We’ll definitely be going back for a boozy, seafood night filled with great food and a taste of Italy.
