A man has been taken to hospital after being found unresponsive in Beckenham.

Emergency services were called to Beckenham High Street in the early hours of this morning (April 21) where a man was found unresponsive.

The scene was attended by officers from Metropolitan Police and ambulance crews from London Ambulance Service.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance crews and police have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.

Enquiries into the incident are underway to establish the cause of the man’s injuries.

According to AA Maps, the road was closed on the High Street both ways between Albemarle Road and Church Avenue with two bus routes on diversion.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 01:50hrs on Sunday, 21 April to reports of a man found unresponsive on High Street in Beckenham.

“Emergency services attended. The man was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Enquiries continue to establish how the man came to be injured.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 637/21Apr.”
