A planning application has been submitted for a brand-new Sainsbury's store in Greenwich.

The proposal is for the store to be built in 6 Mitre Passage, Greenwich Peninsula, near the O2 area.

The application, which is currently under consideration, was submitted to Greenwich Council on February 23.

It proposes the installation of four internal illuminated fascia signs, two projecting signs, one ATM surround sign and vinyl signage for the ground floor commercial unit.

The O2 is located north of the site and is a three-minute walk away and North Greenwich Pier is around 0.12 miles northeast.

A Tesco Express is also located opposite the potential build at 205 Peninsula Square.

It is unknown when a decision will be made by Greenwich Council regarding the new store in Mitre Passage.
