The deadline for entry into this year's Barking and Dagenham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards has been extended.

Businesses now have until midnight on Sunday, April 28 to nominate their colleagues, boss or company for the awards - of which the Post is a sponsor.

The Chamber of Commerce highlights that this is an excellent opportunity to boost awareness of your business and acknowledge the hard work your team puts in.

All businesses are encouraged to submit entries, whether they are based inside or outside of Barking and Dagenham.

There is also no restraint on the number of categories one can enter.

Each year, The Chamber of Commerce Business Awards hosts a grand celebration of businesses in Barking and Dagenham.

This year, the awards offer 11 different categories for businesses to apply, providing lots of opportunities for a diverse range of businesses to participate.

The chamber’s president Jamie Banks said: "The Barking & Dagenham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards are a wonderful platform for celebrating and generating business success.

"Whilst there is a focus on businesses located in Barking and Dagenham, there are also categories open for those businesses based outside our area which are doing business in Barking and Dagenham.

"There are plenty of opportunities for entry and are free for all businesses to participate."

Businesses still have a chance to be one of the shortlisted ventures in this year's competition and to celebrate their successes and achievements.

The black-tie dinner and awards ceremony will be held at Dagenham & Redbridge FC, Victoria Road, Dagenham, on June 6.

The twelfth category, Barking & Dagenham Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year 2024, is a judges’ decision featuring winners of the above categories.

This year, as a special tribute, there will also be The Sominder Panesar Award to remember the contribution of the late Sominder Panesar to the Barking and Dagenham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards and the chamber itself.

This award will acknowledge someone who has continued to make a difference to the local business community.
