Plans for a new pub with a block of flats behind it are among this week's planning applications.

Havering Council has received more than 38 applications for a variety of developments in the borough.

Planning applications will be reviewed by the council before any final decisions are made.

We have summed up the most notable applications and included them for ease below:

One proposal (P0300.24) is to reinstate the Bell Inn, in the Broadway, Rainham, as a functioning pub with a three storey block containing eight flats at the back.

The applicant Richard Gillanders hopes to revert the existing building's use, said to date back to the 18th century, as a public house.

Also listed is an application (P0449.24) to the change the use of a dwelling in Henbane Path, Romford, into a children's home for a maximum of one child, with up to three carers, two of whom will sleep overnight, working on a rota basis.

There is a proposal for new log cabin style outbuildings (P0465.24) in Squirrels Heath Avenue, Romford.

If approved, the main outbuilding will have a duo pitch roof and the secondary attached outbuilding a mono pitch roof.

In Mawney Road, Romford, the applicant (P0473.24) wishes to demolish the existing two storey commercial unit and rear commercial unit and in its place build a three-storey residential building consisting of five units.

In Queen's Park Road, Romford, the applicant (P0469.24) is looking to divide the six bedroom house into two separate three bedroom dwellings.

Over in Collier Row Lane is an application (P0452.24) to construct one new dwelling.

An applicant ( P0459.24) hopes to build a two storey one-bedroom dwelling on land in Brentwood Road.

The proposal includes parking and amenities.

Any comments must be received within three weeks of April 9.
