This Chislehurst restaurant has won several awards and offers a dog-friendly fine-dining experience on the high street.

Cinnamon Culture, located on Chislehurst High Street, first opened its doors in 2022 at the current location after first launching at a pub in Bromley’s Sundridge Park Village in 2011.

The restaurant offers a fine-dining experience serving traditional and regional Indian recipes, along with fusion dishes using Indian alternatives to continental, with dishes like their Saag burrata, Achari ostrich and Cumin chocolate fondant.

The interiors offer a “lavish yet cosy’ dining space featuring 30 Dixon lamps installed at the bar and dining area, along with blue and red velvet furniture and smoked mirrors.

Restaurant manager Margaret Dhingra said: “We’re a family run fine-dining Indian restaurant. 

“When designing the restaurant, we wanted the restaurant to feel lavish and elegant, offering a mix of modern sophistication and cosy surroundings our guests would be drawn to return to.”

It has a cocktail menu featuring 22 different cocktails, with both classics and in-house specials infused with spices like their popular Cinnamon Star Martini.

The menu offers a large selection of gluten-free, dairy-free and plant-based options including gluten-free naan breads.

Some of the most popular dishes are the chilli prawns and soft shell crab, and giant wild Madagascan prawns for fans of seafood.

The Hyderabadi lamb biryani served in a paratha-sealed pot is also another popular dish, along with the beetroot kofta for a plant-based option.

Over the years the business has won a number of awards at the National Curry Awards and the Asian Curry Awards, and was also the only Bromley based Indian restaurants named in the Michelin Guide between 2012 and 2020.

The current building dates to the 1920s, when it was previously used to house the South Suburban Cooperative Society.

Restaurant manager Margaret Dhingra said: “The entire area is a conversation zone.

“During the refurbishment process, a fabulously preserved old stone sign was uncovered.

“We have left it intact to preserve it for future generations, and it is now hidden under our new façade.”

Prices start from £6.95 for lunchtime dishes with a selection of lunch options like small plates, roti wraps and salads.

Margaret added that May will see the return of their popular BBQ Boxes with a selection of pre-marinated meats and veggies.
