A prospective restaurant which is looking to replace a former massage centre has bid to serve alcohol.

Applicant Amal Shahzad, on behalf of The Clove in 177 Squirrels Heath Lane, Hornchurch has applied for a licence to serve alcohol with food from Monday to Sunday.

If Mr Shahzad's plans are granted, his business will operate from 11am until 10.30pm on those days.

The most recent planning application for that address, on Havering Council's planning portal, shows a proposal to convert a shop into a restaurant.

This was validated last December but remains "undecided" and a decision date was set to April 1, but that has since passed.

Mr Shahzad is looking to secure a premises licence under section 17 of the Licensing Act 2003.

The  application is open to feedback until April 17 this year while it is considered by the council's licensing team.

KMDS Designs, the applicant and agent for the reconfiguration plans,  P1725.23, had also looked to install an outside flue, a rear door and change the size of the building's first-floor window.
