Two London pubs have been named the best in the region at the National Pub and Bar Awards for 2024.

Announcing nearly 100 country winners, the awards for regional pubs are created to offer a unique platform to promote themselves and increase guest footfall from locals and visitors alike.

The National Pub and Bar Awards chose pubs, including the London winners, over several factors from design, service, style of offering, marketing and investment.

Discussing the awards, Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine said: "Pubs and bars are facing some of the biggest challenges in recent history, so if the National Pub & Bar Awards can help by lifting sales across these venues, then we’re delighted to play our part.”

The final of the National Pub and Bar Awards will be held in London welcoming all 94 Country winners to celebrate their achievements. 

London's best pubs named at the National Pub and Bar Awards

The two London pubs named at the coveted awards are Mr Fogg's City Tavern and The Audley Public House.

Set on Liverpool Street, Mr Fogg's City Tavern is described as an "eccentric Victorian-style tavern" offering draught beers, punches, cocktails and pub food.

The pub was inspired by the explorer of Jules Verne's novel Around the World in 80 Days, Mr Fogg's puts an exciting twist on the typical pub.

Self-describing the pub, Mr Fogg shares: "Located in Broadgate Circle, patrons can unwind at high wooden tables and savour a selection of draught beers, punches, expertly crafted cocktails and a delectable array of traditional British pub grub."

With a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5/5, Mr Fogg's is popular for its regular brunches and atmosphere, as one guest wrote: "Great bar for drinks and socialising. Decor is beautifully themed. Good choice of cocktails and drinks to choose from."

Another said: "We all felt very well looked after by the Mr Fogg's team. A great atmosphere, wonderful location and The Best cocktails. Thank you."

Fellow winner was The Audley Public House in Mayfair, which is described as a "traditional neighbourhood pub, carefully restored and where history and contemporary art collide."

Said to be a "star", The Audley was designed by Thomas Verity who also designed the exterior of the pavilion at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Serving the likes of draught beers and cider, they also offer a small menu of pub classics including a traditional Sunday roast.

On TripAdvisor, The Audley has a rating of 4/5 with one guest writing: "Such a beautiful thriving pub. Great to pop in for a quick drink. Really like it here. Very busy and good atmosphere. Let’s not loose this incredible building and keep it open!"

Another fan said: "This was the first pub we visited during our trip to London. Excellent fish and chips and shepherds pie. Huge portions. Great service and clean. Nice cold beers as well."
