A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car on the A2 in Kent.

The incident involving a white Honda motorcycle and a red Peugeot 3008 happened at around 8pm yesterday (April 5).

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service crews attended and found a motorcyclist injured.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Closures were put in place on the A2 London bound between B262 and A2260 following the incident.

The crash caused miles of congestion and severe delays in the area, according to AA.

All traffic restrictions were lifted at around 5.30am today (April 6). 

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Witnesses are sought to a fatal collision on the Londonbound carriageway of the A2 near Ebbsfleet.

“The incident involving a white Honda motorcycle and a red Peugot 3008 happened at around 8pm on Friday 5 April 2024.

“Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended, between the junctions for Gravesend and Ebbsfleet, where the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
