A brand-new B&M will be opening its doors in Bexleyheath replacing the former Wilko store.

The new store is expected to open in 74 Broadway, Bexleyheath on May 31, according to its website.

After failing to secure a takeover that would save the business, Wilko fell into administration on August 10, 2023.

Wilko’s Bexleyheath branch, which shut for good on October 5, was one of 400 stores in the UK to close its doors.

A total of 12 Wilko stores in south London permanently closed its doors after the retailer fell into administration.

These were in Putney, Orpington, Wimbledon, Penge, Thamesmead, Lewisham, Greenwich, Epsom, Bexleyheath, Tooting, Bromley and Sutton.

Following the closures, B&M introduced two new stores in south east London which opened in Thamesmead and New Cross.

The Thamesmead store at Cannon Retail Park, 6 Twin Tumps Way opened its doors on February 22.

As for New Cross, shoppers were able to visit the new store at Unit 2, New Cross Gate Retail Park from February 29.
