A floral tribute has been set up near the scene of a crash in which a motorcyclist received fatal injuries.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a man died on January 28, a little over three weeks after a crash in West Hendon Broadway (A5) near Welsh Harp Reservoir on January 5.

The rider's Kawasaki motorbike was travelling north when it collided with an oncoming black Mercedes turning right at traffic lights into Cool Oak Lane before crashing into a lamp post.

The rider was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died later that month.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured. They stopped to be interviewed and were not arrested.

Motorists travelling past the crash site have since noticed a tribute at a lamp post by the Cool Oak Lane junction.
