Images from the scene of a house fire in Harold Hill show the extent of the damage caused by the blaze.

The incident in Hitchin Close was reported to London Fire Brigade at around 3.02am on April 3.

Most of the two-storey mid-terraced house was destroyed by the flames.

They were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.

Pictures and video clips show fire crews from Harold Hill, Romford, Hornchurch and Dagenham fire stations, along with a crew from Essex Fire and Rescue Service trying to contain the fire.

The fire was brought under control by 4.03am, but the cause of it is still under investigation.
