Care home residents have celebrated Easter with baking activities to bring back "cherished memories" from childhood.

Leonard Lodge in Roxwell Gardens, Hutton, Brentwood, hosted traditional activities for its elderly residents over the Easter holiday, which has run from Good Friday (March 29) until Easter Monday (April 1).

Activities, such as creating "wonderful" Easter cakes, were on the bill this Easter Sunday (March 31), and a resident said it reminded her of baking with her children when they were small.

Resident Sheila told Leonard Lodge staff that baking over the festive period had brought back happy and cherished memories.

Once the cakes wre baked and decorated, everyone got to try them, Lynn Amiri, activities coordinator at the lodge said.

"Everybody agreed they tasted delicious," Lynn added.
