Friern Barnet's Edwardian community park, Friary Park, is a space full of greenery, flowers, large fields, and even a playground with many swings and slides. The park is used by many people with their families who go for walks with friends or use the tennis court, table tennis and gym area for leisure/ exercise.

In 2009, a new skatepark was built for local skaters, which is now located near the gym area in the park. The skatepark consists of three ramps, a curb box, a flat bank, a rail and a small area for riding flatground.

This edition to Friary park has been extremely successful, especially during the summer, as the area is filled with children and adults skating. It has been an incredible opportunity for encouraging exercise and new hobbys as even I began to learn to skate at Friary Park in 2020. With the acception of the weather, I have been going there to practice ever since and I have made many new friends along the way.

A local skater said,

''This skatepark has been like a home for me for about six years now. I remember learning to skate here with my first ever board and developing my skills over the years. I still come here often with my friends and it's a blast.''

Friary Park has become a great community space for people who skateboard, like myself, and the park has provided a wonderful area for people to enjoy skating for many years.
