With many people set to enjoy a long weekend, many people will be looking for things to do this Easter.

Whether you fancy soaking up some culture, taking a spring walk or getting your chocolate fix, we’ve rounded up some of the best things we think you should do this Easter and everything you need to know.

Visit an immersive chocolate exhibition in Greenwich

Located in the Old Royal Naval College, the Chocolate House Greenwich will take visitors on an immersive trip to the 18th century “royal” Chocolate House of chocolate makers Grace and Thomas Tosier.

The exhibition will explore the origins of chocolate when it was first discovered in Central America, showing how it has evolved over time and some of the key players in the chocolate-making game.

The soundtrack will capture the essence of the chocolate social club at Hampton Court, where visitors will be able to listen to the conversations of great minds of the day: Sir Christopher Wren, John Evelyn, Royal John Flamsteed, and John Vanbrugh.

Travel through time and find eggs at Greenwich’s Time Travel Trail

When? March 29 - April 14, 10am - 5pm

If you fancy hunting for some eggs and learning about some history, visit the Visitor Centre at the Old Royal Naval College, where you can learn about the Easter celebrations throughout history and complete an Easter activity booklet to be exchanged for a chocolate prize at the end.

Try an Easter inspired Indian buffet at Babur

Where? Babur, 119 Brockley Rise, Forest Hill, SE23 1JP

On Easter Sunday (March 31) the popular and award-winning Babur restaurant in Forest Hill will be serving up an Easter buffet with a range of Easter inspired dishes.

For just £27.95 for an adult or £17.95 for a child, guests will be able to choose from a range of dishes including starters like Masala fish finger with tartar sauce or Kasundi chicken tikka, and mains like lamb kofta and egg curry, and desserts like hot cross bun pudding served with saffron.

Decorate a chocolate egg from atop the O2

Where? Up at the O2, Peninsula Square, Greenwich, SE10 0DX

Decorate a chocolate egg like you’ve never done it before, from March 29 until April 1, when Up at the O2 will be offering Easter slots to decorate a chocolate egg handed out by the Easter bunny himself, whilst enjoying 360 degree views of the London skyline.

After making the climb to the top of the iconic O2 building, you’ll be presented with a chocolate egg, pens and stickers so you can get creative and decorate your own egg.

Slots are bookable online at 10am and 10:30am on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April.

Explore the free art trail at Greenwich

If you fancy walking off all those Easter eggs over the weekend, head over to Greenwich’s riverside where you can explore a range of outdoor sculptures from artists like Allen Jones, Morag Myerscough and Anthony Gormley.

Don’t forget to pay a visit to the brightly coloured candy-striped stairs at The Tides Steps, created by Turner Prize nominee Ian Davenport.

Watch I Should Be So Lucky at the Churchill Theatre

Playing at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre, I Should Be So Lucky tells the story of Ella and Nathan, a pair of star-crossed lovers with wedding jitters and tropical dreams.

This jukebox musical by Stock Aitken Waterman features songs from the Hit Factory including Never Gonna Give You Up and I Should Be So Lucky.

Laugh yourself silly with a comedy night at the Cutty Sark

If you fancy listening to some comedy, head over to the Cutty Sark on Easter Sunday in the evening for a night of comedy acts.

Held in the Lower Hold of the famous Tea Clipper, the event will feature a full lineup of acts including headline act Sophie Duker and other acts from Rodger O’Sullivan and Daman Bamrah.

See views of London from an IFS Cloud Cable Car

Where? Edmund Halley Way, London, SE10 0FR

How much? One-way fares £6 for an adult and £3 for a child, or return for £12 for an adult and £6 for a child

Take a trip on a cable car from North Greenwich to see the London skyline 90 metres high aboard the IFS Cloud Cable Car, where you’ll be able to see landmarks like The O2, Canary Wharf, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Gherkin.

The IFS Cloud Cable Car claims to be the highest observation point on the Thames and is open from early morning until late evening, giving you great views of London at different times of the day.
