A car was left impaled on a security pole outside a Brentwood Tesco store.

The fire service sent one fire engine from Basildon station and its crews were on scene to ensure everyone was safe.

“It is not ongoing,” the Essex Fire spokesperson said. “It [the incident] appears to have been wrapped up.”
