A student at a secondary school in Belvedere has reportedly been seen with a knife during school hours.

The incident happened at the Trinity Church of England School at around 11.30am yesterday (March 26).

Officers were called to the school in Erith Road and the pupil was found.

No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Trinity Church of England school confirmed that police attended after reports of an illicit item were made.

It added that all the pupils were kept safe as staff dealt with the matter quickly and efficiently.

The full statement from the school says: “There was a report of an illicit item in school.

“Police have been on site and with staff have dealt with the matter quickly and efficiently.

“All pupils are safe. The issue is now concluded.

“Please refrain from calling in to reception.

“Thank you for your support in this matter.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 11:30hrs on Tuesday, 26 March by a school in Erith Road, Belvedere after it was reported a pupil was seen in possession of a knife.

“Officers attended and located the pupil.

“There were no arrests and no reports of any injuries.”
