Japanese clothes retailer Uniqlo's shop sign is still visible on a major Romford shopping centre more than 20 years after it is thought to have shut.
Uniqlo, a casual wear designer, opened its Romford branch in The Brewery on September 27 in 2001, according to Havering Libraries, a few months after the complex opened.
A spokesperson for The Brewery said today (March 27) that they believe the Uniqlo shut in 2003, just two years after it opened.
But more than 20 years on, the sign is still visible from Romford train station.
The spokesperson said: "Many many years ago it was in the main building.
"The sign is old and we have intention to get it changed but need one of our brands to take it on."

In 2002, the Romford Uniqlo was listed in the first telephone directory for the centre, according to Havering Libraries.
But soon after it faced closure after the company decided to shut its Romford branch, according to an article from Retail Week dated on September 19 in 2003.
Uniqlo did so to cut its property overheads, the UK retail news publication claimed that year.
When approached, Uniqlo said it was unable to comment on whether a Romford branch could return.
