A superhero family fun run for a children’s cancer charity is being staged in Brentwood for the first time in five years following the Covid pandemic.

The Sunday 5km event at Brentwood Rugby Club on June 23 is for all fitness levels and abilities to raise money for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund.

All ages are being invited to run, walk, skip or maybe “fly to the finish line” dressed as their favourite superhero.

The run circles around the sports pitches and part of King George’s Playing Fields heading to a festival with fairground rides, bouncy castles, craft market, classic car display, face painting and live performances.

It will be open from 10am until 4pm, with entry free.

Wellwishers can sign up for £12 on the charity’s lennoxccf.org.uk website for a runners’ pack and sponsor form by email, with capes and masks to buy on the day.

The last superhero run took place in 2019 before the pandemic but could not be staged the following year due to Covid restrictions.
