A delivery driver is looking forward to choosing a car of his own after winning a £15,000 cash prize.

Florin Scintei, from Harrow, woke up to a video call that announced him as the Daily Draws Competition winner, courtesy of online competition specialist BOTB (Best of the Best).

Mr Scintei, an Amazon delivery driver, was left in disbelief after receiving the news from BOTB presenter Christian Williams.

The 27-year-old delivery driver said: "I thought it was a dream and still can’t believe it.

"When Christian called me, I didn’t really know what was happening and thought it was a joke, but I'm obviously delighted it wasn’t.

"I’ve been struggling with money, so this will mean a lot."

He only entered the competition following the advice of a friend who had been participating with BOTB for over a year.

The prize money gives him the opportunity to buy his own car.

Mr Scintei said: "I’ve got a van for work, but it’s not the same as having my own car.

"I don’t know which one I’m going to get yet.

"One day I look at BMWs and the next it’s an Audi."

As well as the car, Mr Scintei also aims to save some of the winnings for a much-deserved holiday and special occasions.

He also plans on treating the friend who originally encouraged him to enter the competition.

He said: "They are very happy for me and I’m definitely going to take them out for dinner and some drinks."

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: "A huge congratulations to Florin for winning this brilliant prize.

"£15,000 is a lot of money and I’m sure it will come in very handy when Florin buys his new car.

"He has also got a lot to thank his friend for, and maybe they will soon be receiving a call or visit from me with some good news of their own."

Parsons Green-based BOTB, established by William Hindmarch in 1999, has awarded £64 million worth of cars in just over two decades along with various lifestyle prizes.

Winners' reactions, including Mr Scintei’s, can be viewed on the company's website, BOTB.com.
