Today is National Puppy Day, a day for celebrating your four-legged friends.

So, if you are thinking of heading to the pub today (Saturday, March 23) don’t leave your furry friends behind.

There are plenty of amazing, dog-friendly pubs in south east London so that you can bring your pup along for your Saturday pint.

We have compiled a list of the five best dog-friendly pubs in London according to The Dog People.

The Woolpack

98 Bermondsey Street, SE1 3UB

The Woolpack describes itself as a “trendy London pub” with an “epic” garden.

It is a short walk from The Shard and The Thames if you want to enjoy being a tourist for the afternoon before settling for a weekend drink.

Simon the Tanner

231 Long Lane, SE1 4PR

Just around the corner from Bermondsey Street, The Dog People says that the staff here make a fuss of the dogs that come inside.

The blog adds that this pub is “famous for both dog-owning and dog-free customers dining in harmony”.

Dial Arch

Number 1 Street, Woolwich, SE18 6GH

According to The Dog People, The Dial Arch has comfy sofas and perfect outdoor spaces for lounging.

Dogs can expect water bowls on request, dog toys to play with and even dog biscuits while you enjoy your pint.

The Cutty Sark

4 Ballast Quay, SE10 9PD

This iconic, Greenwich pub is a great one for dog owners as The Dog People say you just need to get your drink and staff will happily get a water bowl for your pup.

Because of a road being nearby it is recommended that you keep your dog on a lead and the blog suggests bringing a blanket for your dog to rest on.

Hare and Billet

1a Hare and Billet Road, SE3 0RB

After exploring the beautiful area of Blackheath, the Hare and Billet pub will welcome you and your dog into the pub.

The Dog People said: “The friendly staff offer water bowls without being asked and love engaging with any waggy tailed visitors.”
