A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with a serious knife injury after an incident in Bermondsey.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance involving a large number of people on Alscot Way at around 9pm on Saturday, March 9.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment and his condition is not life threatening.

Two males have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and remain in custody.

According to police, a crime scene remains in place and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at approximately 9pm on Saturday, March 9 to reports of disturbance involving a large number of people in Alscot Way, SE1.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 13-year-old boy suffering a serious knife injury.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment; his condition is not life threatening.

“Two males have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and remain in custody.

"A crime scene remains in place and enquiries into the circumstances continue. Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD6930/9Mar.
