West Hampstead's ambitious masterplan is gathering pace, with several applications filed as part of the large-scale development.

The 02 Masterplan for Finchley Road and West Hampstead is among a number of planning applications that were submitted to Camden Council between March 4 and 10.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

The biggest of them all is the huge planned 02 regeneration project, with applications dealing with diverse issues from air quality to land contamination and planning specifics.

Developer Landsec's plan includes 608 homes, shops, restaurants and a community centre and public space in its first phase.

In December the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, gave the go-ahead for the regeneration project despite local opposition.

The applications fall into two main categories.

The first concerns obligatory details covering various specifics.

For instance, application 2024/0661/P targets 'Air Quality Dust Monitoring'. This falls under condition M19 of the previously granted planning permission on December 20, 2023.

Similarly, there are significant applications like 2024/0662/P concerning 'Land Contamination Risk Assessment', and 2024/0663/P regarding the London Underground's involvement.

All these applications stem from the same planning permission ( 2022/0528/P).

Details related to 'Network Rail' are the focus of application 2024/0664/P, while 2024/0665/P seeks to satisfy the condition concerning a 'basement engineer', showcasing the range of infrastructure considerations involved.

Another application (2024/0727/P) handles the phasing plan required by planning permission condition RM6.

Elsewhere on Camden's list, planning permission has been sought in the Redington Frognal conservation area to erect a single storey rear extension at ground floor level with a roof terrace in Redington Road (2024/0459/P).

An application has been received (2024/0637/P) for the installation of four external air source heat pump units, paving works, and stairs to temporary classrooms in Finchley Road, as well fencing along Parsifal Road in Fortune Green.

In Hampstead Town, a householder has applied for a raft of alterations including the excavation of a basement with front lightwell and sunken terrace at the rear of a property in Keats Grove (2023/5162/P).

This also includes the erection of two-storey rear and front infill extensions, a single-storey side infill extension, an air source heat pump, installation of entrance gates, a covering over an existing parking space, and bike and bin stores to the front of the site.

Lastly, in Dartmouth Park Road, there's an application (2023/5344/P) for the erection of a part single/part two storey side extension, a front garden wall with metal gates and bin storage area
