A block of flats has been shut after several anti-social behaviour complaints.

The Heaton Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) along with officers from Havering Council served a full closure order on blocks 1-12 at Rothbury House, Kings Lynn Drive in Harold Hill on Friday (March 8).

In addition to anti-social behaviour, the Met Police said the complaints included violence, drugs and shoplifting offences in Farnham Road.

The order, granted by Barkingside Magistrates Court, will be in effect for three months. The force added that they have secured the windows and doors at the premises and anyone entering the block will be liable to arrest.

Insp Charlie Routley, tactical lead for Clear Hold Build in Havering, said Rothbury House was a “magnet for ASB, violence and drug related offences” and had a “really negative impact on the quality of life of those who live in the area”.

Havering Council leader Ray Morgon suggested that working in partnership with the police and other partners, talking and listening to residents, local businesses and communities can help crack down on such crimes.

“Anti-social behaviour has a negative and often, frightening impact on residents and the community.
