A suspected burglar who was arrested in Peckham has been charged with multiple offences after a crash near Swanley.

On February 25, 2024, police identified a blue Toyota connected to a series of break-ins and vehicle thefts in west Kent and Surrey.

The Toyota allegedly did not stop when required by police, leading to a car chase.

The car was then involved in a crash with a motorbike in Green Court Road, Crockenhill.

After the crash, the motorcyclist and a pillion passenger both suffered serious injures.

The driver of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and police could not find them.

However, on Tuesday, March 5, Chad Goodall, of no fixed address, was arrested in Peckham.

He was charged with:

  • Two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
  • Two counts of criminal damage.
  • Conspiring to steal a motor vehicle.
  • Conspiring to commit burglary.
  • Dangerous driving.

On Thursday, March 7, the 43-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court.

He was remanded in custody until a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, on Friday, April 5.
