The London Walk 2024  - Team SPEAR

Join TeamSPEAR in tackling homelessness by taking part in the London Walk 2024

The London Homeless Collective is a movement of over 25 charities that provide support to individuals experiencing homelessness. The aim of this walk is to provide an opportunity to gain an insight to the lives of those who are homeless. The walk takes place on the 22nd of March at 8pm and will start and finish near Trafalgar Square. A variety of distances are available, from 10km to a full marathon.

SPEAR London is an incredible organisation that “work with people experiencing homelessness beyond secured accommodation, supporting them to reach their hopes and aspirations, independence and become part of the community.

SPEAR, currently cover Richmond, Kingston, Merton, Wandsworth and Sutton. They offer an extensive and monumental help to those currently or recently experiencing homelessness. Their aim is to help those affected to regain their independence and reclaim their place in society.

What do they do?

SPEAR offer support to people throughout the entire process from homelessness to independence, from actively going out in the early morning to find those who are rough sleeping, to employment training and education. They provide support in all of these areas:

- Rough sleeper outreach

- Resettlement and tenancy support

- Accommodation

- Community development

- Homeless health link service – supports, advocates and connects homeless people to support them with mental and physical health

SPEAR also provide the opportunity for anyone to report an individual who is currently rough sleeping. Their outreach teams will respond to the referral made, and offer the individual support. If you would like to report an individual who is currently rough sleeping, you can do so on SPEAR’s website or through the link here.
