Police have been given extra powers to deal with anti-social behaviour in Enfield.
A section 35 dispersal order has been granted for Enfield Town, including in Church Street, Cecil Road and London Road.
These powers allow police officers to disperse individuals engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing public nuisance.
Enfield Police have said they are necessary because officers have been called to “multiple incidents” in recent days to reports of youths armed with weapons.
The reasoning for this is because Police have been called to multiple incidents in recent days to reports of youths armed with weapons, incidents of 30+ fighting and innocent members of the public assaulted. They added there had also been incidents of fighting and innocent members of public had been assaulted.
On X, the force said: “Dispersal zone is to assist in the prevention of future offences.”
The dispersal order began at 2pm yesterday (March 11) and will be in place until the end of today.
