A care home that looks after disabled adults welcomed a royal visitor.
Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, was welcomed at Livability New Court Place, a home caring for 24 adults with physical and learning disabilities in Whitehouse Avenue, Borehamwood.
The royal visit commemorated Livability’s 180th anniversary.
The princess took a tour of the building, meeting with residents and staff, and seeing the smart technology at the site designed to provide increased independence for residents.
This technology allows residents to control their room environment, use their TV, and open their curtains without assistance.
Princess Anne, who is also the charity's patron, was shown through various areas in the home which have recently been upgraded.
She viewed a new sensory bath, funded by The Hobson Charity, which provides therapy for residents.
Residents showed off their skills playing interactive games on a digital table.
Livabiluty CEO Sally Chivers said: "It is a pleasure to bring the people we support, families and partners together today, alongside our Patron – The Princess Royal - to celebrate 180 years of Livability at a fabulous and long-standing service such as Livability New Court Place."
The celebration finished with speeches from Her Royal Highness and Sally Chivers, and a lunch reception.
