On the 10th of February, Croydon High’s Year 8 started their week-long ski trip in La Molina, Spain.

The girls set their 24 hour journey, traveling by coach, ferry and then coach again.

They stayed in Hotel Guitart in the small town of La Molina in north-eastern Spain. The hotel was on the Pyrenees mountains, which is where the girls were skiing.

The girls spent their first day traveling, fitting their shoes, helmets, and skis, and settling into their rooms.

After they had adapted to the cold weather and their surroundings, the girls were allowed four three items from the tuck shop.

The items included a drink (juice or fizzy drinks were on offer), some sweets, crisps, and biscuits.

Shortly after this, they went down to dinner, which was chicken nuggets and chips.

On the next day, the girls started their skiing experience.

There were 4 groups of girls based on their skiing ability, ranging from beginner to advanced.

The girls spent their entire time on the slopes, and those who had never skied before, developed massively.

One beginner skier, Ela Cummins, said that by the end of the trip, she felt “confident in her skiing ability” and that she “was excited to go again”

Overall, the ski trip was an amazing opportunity for the girls and has inspired many to take up skiing themselves.
