A police car was badly damaged in a crash while responding to an emergency in a busy town centre. 

The Recorder reported yesterday (February 27) how a police crime scene was put in place on the corner of Romford Road just outside the Manor Park Library, following the collision.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "The driver of the other car, a man, was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

A police cordon was in place on the corner of Romford Road following the crash, which also caused damage to a nearby electrics box on the pavement, just outside Manor Park Library.

Both cars were pictured with significant damage.
