The engine compartment of a bus was destroyed after a fire broke out in Sidcup.

Fire crews were called to Hurst Road at around 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday, January 7).

No injuries were reported and the fire was under control by around 3pm.

Two fire engines attended the scene.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters tackled a bus fire on Hurst Road in Sidcup yesterday.

“An engine compartment was destroyed by fire.

“There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade was called at 1436 and the fire was brought under control by 1457.

“Two fire engines from Sidcup Fire Station attended the scene.”
