London Ambulance Service has issued an update after a teen was injured in a moped crash in Orpington.

Ambulance crews were called at 11.17am yesterday (December 28) to Chipperfield Road.

An ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an advanced paramedic were sent to the scene.

The rider, a male believed aged 17, was treated at the scene for a leg injury.

He was then taken to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries into the circumstances, including to establish whether any other vehicles were involved, are ongoing.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.17am yesterday (28 December) to reports of a road traffic collision in Chipperfield Road, Orpington.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an advanced paramedic to the scene.

“We treated a patient at the scene for a leg injury and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 11:20hrs on Thursday, 28 December to reports of a moped rider injured in Chipperfield Road, Orpington.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The rider, a male believed aged 17, was taken to hospital for treatment – condition awaits.

“Enquiries into the circumstances, including to establish whether any other vehicles were involved, are ongoing. Road closures remain in place.
