It's been a busy month in court and a number of south Londoners now find themselves behind bars.

Their crimes include murder, rape, threatening a toddler with a knife and stealing a priceless Chinese vase.

Here's a run down of the criminals who have been jailed in October.

Kieran Johnson

Sex offender Kieran Johnson raped a teenage boy in Greenwich after hitting him with a baseball bat.

Johnson, 21, was at an address in the SE10 area of Greenwich with the 18-year-old victim on March 13 last year. 

He hit the teen with a a baseball bat and demanded that he hand over his phone, keys and a vape pen. 

After the robbery, Johnson raped and assaulted him multiple times. 

Johnson, of no fixed address, was arrested the following day at a hotel in east London.

On October 13 he was sentenced to 18 years in prison by an Old Bailey judge.

Kwesi Caven, Elijah McPhee-Young and Lewis Dormer

Kwesi Caven, 39, Elijah McPhee-Young, 25, and Lewis Dormer, 38 have been jailed following a series of robbery offences in Greenwich and Bromley.

On one occasion they robbed a security guard at gunpoint in Mottingham while driving a stolen car.

On another occasion they stormed a home in Greenwich where a man was with his three-year-old son.

One of the men picked up the toddler and threatened: “If you don’t give me the money, I will cut him up.”

The victim handed over £10,000 in cash which had been recently withdrawn.

His hands were then bound using cable ties, from which he was only able to free himself when his partner returned home.

Gavin Prodger

Driving his Audi he struck and killed Lily Lockwood on Watling Street at around 6.50pm on July, 10, 2021.

The 50-year-old was driving at 47mph in a 30mph zone while using his phone to send a photo moments before the crash.

CCTV footage found that Lily carefully checked the roads were clear as she crossed to meet her friends at the park.

The 10-year-old was taken to hospital where she died shortly after.

Prodger was jailed for 12 years after causing death by careless driving and possession of cocaine.

Kaine Wright, Mbaki Nkhwa and David Lamming

The Pomegranate Vase from the Yongle Period was priceless, but valued for insurance purposes for $2.5m (£2,050,625).

Prosecutor James Thacker told the court the trio were involved in an organised criminal group that had attempted to sell the historic vase for £1m.

However, having had no luck, they later settled on an agreed price of £450,000 in cash with undercover coppers posing as buyers.

Kaine Wright, 26, of Woolwich, and 47-year-old Mbaki Nkhwa, of Charlton, were each convicted of one count of conspiracy to convert criminal property.

David Lamming, 31, of Lewisham, changed his plea to guilty just before the trial began.

Nkhwa, who has seven daughters and worked as an air conditioning engineer, was sentenced to 30 months’ imprisonment.

David Lamming, who is the only one of three to have been granted bail until now, was sentenced to three years and two months. Wright was given three years.

Jonathan Yeye

Yeye, 21, of Pegwell Street, was seen pulling a samurai sword and a machete from his trousers.

He was with 41-year-old Quinton Hyland, who was seen with a meat cleaver.

Yeye was jailed for a year and two months.

He had previously been jailed in 2021 for being in possession of a two-foot long machete.

Amidu Koroma

Amidu Koroma, a delivery driver from Brixton, planned and executed the murder of his wife, set fire to their home and then tried to blame their teenage son.

The 48-year-old stabbed community nurse Mariam Kamara four times in the face, neck and chest with a kitchen knife as she slept in her bed.

He then used petrol to start a fire to hide what he had done before blaming his 19-year-old son Ishmael, wrongly accusing him of being mentally disturbed and re-enacting a scene from the Netflix thriller You.

But jurors heard the couple’s relationship was “toxic” and Ms Kamara had repeatedly expressed fears to friends that he was going to kill her.

Jurors were also told that the defendant, who had a child with another woman, had feared she would leave him for a man she had struck up an intimate friendship with in Sierra Leone.

Koroma, of Railton Road, was found guilty of Ms Kamara’s murder and arson following a trial at the Old Bailey.

 Judge Rebecca Poulet KC jailed him for life with a minimum term of 29 years with a concurrent sentence of seven years for arson.

Terry Agombar

Terry Agombar, from Dartford, arranged to buy and sell 10 kilograms of cocaine using a secret messaging service.

Messages from a person using the pen name, ‘serialcod’, which were about a large-scale purchase of cocaine in the county, were passed to Kent Police.

He thought his messages were encrypted but they were recovered by international law enforcement agencies.

Agombar, aged 32, of William Mundy Way,  was arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and was jailed for seven years.

Detective Constable Aaron Chapman, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “When Agombar was buying and selling large quantities of cocaine, a kilogram was being exchanged for between £36,000 - £40,000."

Joshua Bragg and Aaron Martin have been jailed for a string of high value car thefts in Dartford and Gravesend.

Between April 1 and May 17 this year, seven addresses in Dartford and Gravesend were broken into by a criminal gang who then stole BMWs and Mercedes parked outside.

The keys to these cars were stolen after the front doors of these properties were forced open.

Other valuables were also stolen including jewellery, phones and computer tablets.

Bragg, 22, of Bell Farm Avenue, Dagenham and Martin, 20, of Triumph Close, Colchester both pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court.

On Thursday 12 October, they were each jailed for three years and nine months.
