The 51st edition of CAMRA's renowned Good Beer Guide has arrived, and it's brimming with exceptional Bromley establishments worthy of celebration.

The annual Good Beer Guide is essential for those in search of the finest pints and unique pub experiences throughout the UK.

Released on an annual basis, the guide serves as the ultimate tool for navigating the nation's pubs, uncovering hidden treasures, and savouring the perfect brew.

Below are the Bromley pubs that have earned their place within.

Bromley

Partridge

Address: 194 High Street, BR1 1HE 

This Grade II-listed ex-NatWest bank has undergone a transformation, now serving as a capacious Fuller's Ale & Pie establishment while preserving numerous original elements, such as its soaring ceilings and elegant chandeliers.

The venue features two annexes adjoining the expansive main bar, along with a rear patio.

Situated adjacent to Market Square, this pub enjoys popularity among shoppers and theatre enthusiasts frequenting the nearby Churchill Theatre.

Star & Garter

Address: 227 High Street, BR1 1NZ

The Star & Garter, a Grade II-listed pub from the late 19th century, was revitalized in 2016 after a closure lasting over two years.

This historic building has undergone a comprehensive renovation, now showcasing eight handpumps, one of which often features real cider.

The pub predominantly features real ales from independent and lesser-known breweries, with a strong emphasis on local and regional microbreweries.

The pub won Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2018-2020.

Red Lion

Kept just north of Bromley town centre, the Red Lion is a traditional pub and worth visiting for all pub lovers.

Now in its 27th consecutive year in the Guide, CAMRA states that this is the only pub in the borough to have featured in every edition since the local branch was formed in 2011.

It has maintained numerous original features, including tiling, and a large library of books is available to customers.

Chislehurst

Cockpit

Address: 4 Royal Parade, BR7 6NR

Opened in 2020, this micropub has quickly proved to be a popular addition to the local community.

The premises are shared with a florist and there is a wide range of seating inside.

The Cockpit features wooden panelling and exposed brickwork, and additional benches at the front.

The pub name comes from the ancient cockpit situated nearby on Chislehurst Common.

Cockpit was voted the Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023.

Beckenham

Bricklayers Arms Address: 237 High Street, BR3 1BN

This traditional high-street pub provides a welcoming atmosphere to a clientele of all ages.

In winter, there is an open log fire and a covered outdoor seating area with heaters and a TV screen.

The pub is popular for live music, as many local and visiting bands play inside.

Orpington

Orpington Liberal Club

One Inn the Wood was the first micropub in the area, located in an ex wine bar near the station in 2014, and winner of several CAMRA awards.

Families and dogs are welcome inside and the beer is served from a glass-fronted cool room.
