A CCTV appeal has been launched to trace a woman who may have witnessed a fatal hit and run crash.

A 53-year-old man was hit by a car, believed to be a dark coloured BMW, in Barretts Green Road, Park Royal near the junction with Acton Lane.

The incident happened at around 3.24am on Friday (June 30) and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car reportedly failed to stop at the scene and a probe was launched by Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit into the incident.

A Met Police spokesperson has said that officers carried out “extensive enquiries to locate the driver and to establish the circumstances”.

No arrests have been made so far.

A CCTV image of a woman, who the officers believe may have witnessed the crash, has now been released in an appeal for information.

Adam Todd, Detective Sergeant, stressed that the woman is not a suspect, but they are keen to speak to her in relation to the collision. He has urged her to contact the police immediately.

He further said: "A man has lost his life, and we are still carrying out extensive enquiries to locate the driver involved.

 “I'd urge anyone else who witnessed the collision, or has information about what happened, to also get in touch."
