The N20 Comedy Festival has done it again. Each year it seems to attract the best comedians around for its month-long run and, ooooh mama, I'm rubbing my hands in anticipation about this one! In a neat twist, those nice people at Battersea Arts Centre have made all shows pay-what-you-can. Aww.

As for the line-up, much of it will be previews of brand spanking new shows in preparation for the all-important Edinburgh Festival, you lucky, lucky things. Thus: l Daniel Kitson: 66a Church Street. June 23 - July 3 A personal favourite and quite unlike any other comedian we have. Kitson gives you not just joy but poignancy, sadness and lots of mickey-taking.

66a Church Street is a work in progress for Kitson's Edinburgh show. Stories will be told, props will be played with. Ideas will take shape, and as the month of August draws closer panic will doubtless set in. In his own words: "Last September I had to move out of my flat after living there for almost six years. I didn't want to. This is a break up show. For my flat."

l Pappy's Fun Club - July 14 Tooting's own band of comedy brothers has a new show featuring historical characters, mythical creatures and the eternal battle between good and evil. Will Pappy's Fun Club save the day? If you consider identifying the problem and then singing about it to be saving the day, then yes.

l Simon Day (pictured): What A Fool Believes - July 26 You'll recognise the former Fast Show man as pub know-it-all Billy Bleach, Competitive Dad, Dave Angel Eco-Warrior and Tommy Cockles. What A Fool Believes is a work in progress for his first ever solo stand up tour, in which he will attempt to explain what it is like to be a clown, hero, genius, loser and true artist in one show.

l Josie Long - July 28 South London lass Josie Long has as busy weekend with this preview of her Edinburgh show, and one of her fine Sunday Night Adventure Clubs the next evening. It's a show that will be so big and so small that you'll need a telescope and a microscope.

l Paul Foot: a la Mode - July 29 Oddball, surreal humour is the order of the day with the excellent Paul Foot, who presents a new show. He arrives fresh from America where he has been starring in Last Comic Standing and BBC Radio 2 listeners will know him from Out To Lunch.

Also on the bill: Craig Campbell - July 15, Ginger & Black - July 16, Golden Record (featuring Kevin Eldon, Stewart Lee and SImon Munnery) - July 17, Wil Hodgson: Chippenham On My Shoulder - July 19, The Comedy Zone featuring top new comics on the scene - July 25, the German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn - July 21, The Penny Dreadfuls: Aeneas Faversham Forever - July 22, Shitty Deal Puppet Theatre Company - July 23, New Art Club's Extra Ordinary World - July 24.
